Feb 11-In 2007, Toyota unmasked the FJ Cruiser with the intent of playing off the retro side a bit, but still following the heritage of its ancestor, the Toyota FJ40. It is underpinned with the toughness that a real truck should have. The FJ Cruiser is definitely not just like other cars. The FJ Cruiser is built under the 4Runner architecture, only with a shortened wheelbase. It is packed with the same 4.0 liter aluminum-block V-6 engine with the same variable valve timing. The FJ Cruiser dares to compete with other cars with its 239 horsepower and 278 lb-ft torque. The engine matches to a five-speed automatic transmission as well as a six-speed manual transmission which is an FJ exclusive. The 2007 and 2008 FJ Toyota Cruiser's exterior is something that other cars can flaunt. Its out-of-this-world design is way out of the reach of other SUV competitions, which are confined to the conformist designs. Following the heritage of the original FJ40s which were released in the 1960s, the FJ Cruiser features narrow-set headlamps in round shape. Its roof is painted white, has an upright windshield that makes it look as if it is ready to advance on anyone and on other cars that goes its way. It even has a distinct wraparound rear glass. However, FJ40 enthusiasts - or at least those who are familiar with it - could easily see the relative similarity and familiarity of the younger breed of FJs to that of the older ones. The new FJs are said to convey uniqueness and legacy, which is Toyota's redeeming factor as their other lineup of cars have missed on those characteristics. The FJ differentiates itself from other autos out there through its elegant, yet sporty style. The interior of the FJ is reviewed as practical rather than rich. It features a washable, rubber like flooring, with water-resistant fabric trim. The body accents are painted with faux metal. It also has low-budget plastic panels. To summarize how the FJ interior looks, it exudes simplicity and functionality which take you back to the older FJ's aura. Since the exterior of the FJs already seems packed with ruggedness, the interior's down-to-earth feel is a perfect complimenting feature. The 2008 FJ Cruiser has a handful of features as an additional to those possessed by the 2007 FJs. New features were added, such as an anti-theft system. It also has an illuminated entrance system with sun visors that has vanity mirrors on it. Curtain airbags are also present. Prices range from $22,000 up to $25,000, approximately, depending on transmission type. So if you've been looking on a selections of cars and is set to spend as much as the amount mentioned above, why not consider getting a Toyota FJ Cruiser? Who knows, you might just have that dream ride you've been wishing for.
